innonate: Check out the The Moment Project. We’re collecting videos of people talking about their favorite movie moments. It’s quite powerful. One of my favorites so far is from my friend Kenyatta Cheese, who recounts a powerful moment from The Silence of the Lambs. There are a lot of great moments recorded on the site from a lot of amazing people. We’d love to have your moment too, so submit...

Home Cook Superstar: The Peter Berley Roasted... →
Peter Berley knows more about food than almost anyone I’ve met. But even I was a skeptic when the former executive chef of Angelika’s Kitchen (a vegetarian spot) recommended this approach to roasting a chicken. Knowing it was a variation of the old school Thomas Keller approach, I decided to… No joke, this is the easiest and most delicious chicken you will ever make.

China Wants to Connect its High-Speed Rail to... →
The goal of this project would be a two-day trip from Beijing to London. The Trans-Siberian Railway, which I’ve seriously considered doing and would still love to, currently takes six days to cover the almost 9,000 km from Moscow to Beijing. Who doesn’t romanticize traveling by train? It’s a shame it’s pretty impractical outside of the northeast corridor in the US....

Aaron's Life: So Long, Farewell Print Newspaper →
I was just at Murray’s reading the weekend Wall Street Journal and found a great piece about the importance of defending terrorists that I was anxious to pass on to all of you. Unfortunately, I was reading the print edition. A moment of catharses? I grew up inside the beltway, the…

Happy birthday, foursquare.
foursquare: It was exactly a year ago when Naveen and I flipped the switch on foursquare.  It was the day before we headed down to SXSW - back when we were still feeling 50/50 on whether people would think the “let’s turn real life into a game!” idea was really interesting or whether they’d laugh us out of Austin. We took separate flights.  I remember walking down the tarmac into the plane...

David M. Cutler: Health Reform Passes the Cost... →
Many people are worried that the health-care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats will fail to bend the “cost curve.” A number of commentators are urging no votes because of this, and Republicans have asked the president to start health reform over, focusing squarely on the issue of cost reduction. These calls overlook the actual legislation. Over the past...
