roelofbotha: Confirmation bias is a tendency for people to favor information that confirms their preconceptions regardless of whether the information is true. Very true although not just an online problem. People tend to stick to their favorite sources (Fox News vs MSNBC, NYT Op Ed vs WSJ Op Ed, church as a social hub vs elsewhere, etc.) more and more both online and off.
