Crane collapse at 51st and 2nd. At least two people died.
Scary. It always amazes me that with buildings connected to each other everywhere that one building’s problem doesn’t became a huge issue for the neighbors more often. Just look at what happened to the building that didn’t collapse here. Compare that to what looks like almost no damage to the neighbors of the guy who blew up his Upper East Side townhouse in July 2006.

Update: The crane was 19 stories high and fell from a block or two away. A bunch of buildings were hit but this one pictured is the only one completely destroyed.
