To me, the most interesting thing about this is not that the US is near the middle of the pack in terms of college graduates but that we are actually moving backwards as almost every other country puts more and more of its citizens through college. Disturbing. Look at how much progress Korea has made in one generation! This isn’t just about developing vs developed: Canada started at nearly the same point as the US one generation ago but has not stopped putting more and more students through college.
I’m pretty sure that this has a lot to do with the differences in socioeconomic classes and their reproduction rates, but that’s for another day.
