A little rebellion
From Noam Chomsky’s recent article in the New Statesman about 1968:The Pentagon Papers tell us that, because of the fear of growing unrest in the cities, the government had to end the war - it wasn’t sure that it was going to have enough troops to send to Vietnam and enough troops on the domestic front to quell the riots. This line reminded me of Thomas Jefferson:
A little rebellion now and then is a good thing and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.
When is it time for a good old fashioned riot?
