After day 1d at the World Series of Poker Main Event this year, my friend Mirza was in 68th place (81,545 chips after starting with 20,000) out of the 2,400 who started that afternoon. He’s just ahead of Phil Hellmuth who was in 79th place on day 1d. There were 6,844 players total this year at the start, so they had to have four days one and two days two to get down to a number of people who could fit in the Rio. The winner takes home $9,119,517. PokerNews is doing live reporting, including daily updates of chip counts.
